Sara Bergström-Halbauer is a Doctoral student and Researcher at Lund University, affiliated with the Department of Law and the Lund University Centre for Business Law (ACLU). Her research focuses on intellectual property rights and freedom of expression, particularly exploring their intersections in Nordic and EU legal frameworks.
She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in private law, including General Property Law, European Trademark, Design and Copyright Law, and contributes to the Faculty of Law's Moot Court program. Her pedagogical methods emphasize practical exercises, such as trademark registrability simulations and case law analysis in digital environments.
Bergström-Halbauer actively participates in academic networks, presenting at conferences like the ATRIP Annual Congress and Nordic/German IP Network Meetings. She co-authored a 2024 consultation response on copyright restrictions (SOU 2024:4) and leads the project An Expressive Property, examining trademark rights and freedom of expression. She is also involved in organizing doctoral candidate conferences and legal workshops.
