Joe Fitzgerald

Joe Fitzgerald serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Vocal Coaching at Oklahoma City University's Wanda Bass School of Music, where he has been faculty for 6 years and conducts the Oklahoma City University Opera and Musical Theater Company. He also holds the position of Associate Music Director for Painted Sky Opera since its 2016 inception.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Music - Organ Performance from Washburn University and a Master of Music in Vocal Coaching from Oklahoma City University.

Fitzgerald specializes in Opera, Musical Theater, and Vocal Coaching with over 50 diverse show credits spanning Monty Python's Spamalot to Puccini's Tosca. His expertise encompasses répétiteur work, vocal coaching, chorus mastering, and music direction across professional and academic settings. Additional interests include Church Music and Organ Performance, reflecting his extensive background as a church organist since childhood.

As an educator, his former students have secured positions at major institutions including the Metropolitan Opera of New York, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and prestigious conservatories such as Juilliard and Manhattan School of Music. Fitzgerald maintains active roles as organist at Hillcrest Presbyterian Church and has held administrative positions including Collaborative Piano Coordinator for the Bass School of Music and founding Artistic Director of OperArezzo.
