Kevin J. Bylsma is an Associate Teaching Professor (repetiteur) at Bowling Green State University’s College of Musical Arts. He serves as Head of Music Preparation, Chorus Master at Toledo Opera, and Co-Artistic Director of Toledo Opera. His roles include vocal coaching, collaborative piano, and choral conducting, with expertise in opera, art song, and oratorio.
Education: Trained at Calvin College, Bowling Green State University, and the University of Michigan (Robert Glasgow Organ Scholarship recipient).
Research interests focus on vocal performance training and collaborative arts. His career spans over two decades with organizations like Michigan Opera Theatre, OPERA! Lenawee, and the Ann Arbor Festival of Song (Co-founder/Artistic Director). He also serves as Associate Organist and Choirmaster at Detroit’s Mariners’ Church.
