Jodi Roffey-Barentsen is a Principal Lecturer at the School of Education, Sport and Health, University of Brighton, actively contributing to the Education Research Excellence Group. Her work bridges academic research and practical educational applications across multiple domains.
Her research centers on Graduate Employment, Reflective Practice, and Widening Participation, with significant extensions into Employability, Learning Support, and Early Years education. She serves as an External Examiner for Masters Educational Research Practice at University Campus North Lincolnshire (University of Hull) since 2019, demonstrating national recognition of her expertise.
Analysis of her 2020-2025 publications reveals consistent focus on teacher development in Further Education, graduate employability pathways, and socio-educational impacts of crises like the COVID-19 pandemic. Her methodological approach spans systematic reviews, qualitative case studies, and reflective practice frameworks, consistently addressing equity gaps and professional identity formation.
She secured Gatsby Charitable Foundation funding for the 2023-2024 project ‘Becoming and being a teacher in the English Further Education sector’ as Co-Investigator.
