Marina Trowell is a Lecturer at The Learning and Teaching Hub, University of Brighton, where she supports inclusive teaching practices, student engagement, and academic development. She serves as the Learning and Teaching Partner for the School of Art and Media and the School of Sport and Health Sciences, providing guidance and workshops to academic staff. Marina is actively involved in strategic initiatives such as the Inclusive Practice Partnerships (IPP) Scheme and the Digital Learning Partnership Project, where she co-created a podcast series on student transition.

She has presented at the National Education Opportunities Network (NEON), the Education and Student Experience Conference, and the Professional Services Conference. An upcoming invited talk at the EPOD Conference in 2025 will focus on podcasting as an educational tool.
Marina mentors students through the Identity Match Mentoring program and supports academic colleagues via the Professional Recognition and Development (PRD) Scheme. She co-edits the Talking about Teaching blog and hosts its podcast series, promoting reflective practice and innovation in teaching. Her work is deeply collaborative, involving students, staff, and external partners in co-producing knowledge and resources.
She has contributed to initiatives such as the staff race awareness speaker series and the development of academic excellence taster activities for college students. Her role bridges academic support, professional development, and educational innovation within the university ecosystem.
