Jochem Kroezen is a Lecturer in International Business at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. His research focuses on institutional change, particularly the revival of craft in organizational society, dynamics of business collective action, and mechanisms underlying socio-economic inequality.
Using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies (including meta-analysis and fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis), Kroezen's work examines the resurgence of craft beer brewing in the Netherlands and other countries. His research highlights how craft principles can contribute to a sustainable economy but faces challenges from industrial consolidation and "craft-washing" by large corporations. Key publications include work in Administrative Science Quarterly and edited volumes like Economics of the Craft Beer Revolution (Palgrave Macmillan) and Constructing Identity in and around Organizations (Oxford University Press).
Current projects explore:
- Business collective action in the alcohol industry
- Historical legitimacy of social enterprises in the Middle East
- Gender inequality in professional tennis
- Sustainable livelihoods in rural Indonesia
- Comparative analysis of market and professional institutional logics
