Innan Sasaki is a Professor in Organisation Studies at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. She previously held positions as a lecturer at Lancaster University Management School and guest research associate at the University of Kyoto (Japan) and University of Turku (Finland). She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an active member of the Academy of Management and European Group of Organization Studies.
Her research explores collective memory, traditions, and organizational change at the intersection of tradition and modernity. Key themes include cultural survival in craft firms, refugee communities, and family businesses. She leads the project Heritage Craft: Promoting the cultural survival & revival of the British heritage crafts sector and co-edits special issues on craft and tradition in top journals.
Her publications analyze cultural resilience in marginalized groups, historical influences on innovation, and methodological innovations in qualitative research. Awards include best paper recognitions and a Higher Education Academy fellowship.
She actively seeks PhD students for qualitative studies aligned with her research and teaches courses on organizational behavior, diversity, and sustainability across undergraduate, MBA, and executive programs.
