معرفی
Jobin Varkey, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Research in Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of Southern California. His work focuses on protein aggregation, membrane interactions, and neurodegenerative diseases such as Huntington's and Parkinson's. He has received awards including the DBT Ramalingaswami Fellowship (2013-2016) and multiple research fellowships from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
His research investigates amyloid fibril formation, protein-membrane interactions, and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases. Key areas include α-synuclein and huntingtin protein dynamics, lipid membrane remodeling, and the structural basis of protein aggregation.
Recent publications highlight studies on TDP43-huntingtin interactions, fluorescent tagging effects on aggregation pathways, and molecular basis of antibody specificity. His work integrates biophysics, biochemistry, and computational modeling to elucidate disease mechanisms.
