Jinwook Jason Chung serves as Associate Professor and Sport Management Program Director at Winthrop University within the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences and Department of Physical Education, Sport, and Human Performance. He has been a faculty member since fall 2015, teaching diverse sport management courses while integrating professional industry experience.
His educational credentials include a Ph.D. and M.S. in Sport Management from Indiana University, a B.S. in Sport and Leisure Studies from Ohio State University, and dual B.S. degrees in Business Administration and Economics from Sung Kyun Kwan University in Seoul, Korea.
Dr. Chung's research examines digital dimensions of sport consumer engagement through specialized lenses: Sport Marketing strategies in online environments, quantification of Electronic Word of Mouth impact, New Media Technology Adoption patterns among diverse demographics, Sport Consumer Experience optimization, and Sport Analytics applications. His work investigates how media effects shape behavior across varied cultural and environmental contexts.
As an educator committed to career preparation, he provides students with practical industry opportunities and mentorship. His professional background includes marketing roles across multiple companies and sport organizations, informing his applied teaching approach.
