Dr. Youngsik Kwak is a Professor and Chairperson in the College of Business at Delaware State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Mississippi, an M.A. in Economics from the same institution, and a B.A. in Economics from Sung Kyun Kwan University in Seoul, Korea. His research focuses on corporate finance, international finance, mergers and acquisitions, and financial markets, with particular emphasis on issues in Korean and global contexts. He has published extensively in journals such as the American Journal of Economics and Business Administration, and has received multiple awards for teaching and leadership, including the Dean’s Performance Award for Outstanding Leadership (2008) and the Best Paper Award at the International Business & Economics Research Conference (2002).
Dr. Kwak’s teaching responsibilities include courses in Financial Management, Investments, International Economics, and Financial Statement Analysis. His research has explored topics such as the impact of financial leverage on stock returns, short selling regulations, and the role of electronic commerce in business practices. He has advised on compliance standards in international trade and contributed to understanding credit default swaps in Korean banks.
