Professor Jingjing Zhang is the Head of Department of Economics at RMIT University's School of Economics, Finance and Marketing. She holds a PhD in Economics from Purdue University (USA) and specializes in experimental and behavioral economics, focusing on decision-making mechanisms and policy design. Her research bridges economics and psychology to improve institutional frameworks in areas like voting systems, public goods, and auctions.
Key research interests include behavioral public policy, consumer decision-making under defaults, and experimental methods. She has secured $1.12M in grants from ARC, NSF (US/Swiss), and advised bodies like the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) on spectrum auction design.
Her work addresses real-world complexities such as consumer exploitation in insurance markets and proposes voting mechanisms to enhance democratic participation. She is an Executive Committee member of the Economic Science Association.
