Jun Zhang

Jun Zhang is Associate Professor in the Economics Discipline Group at UTS Business School, specializing in mechanism design, auction theory, and industrial organization. An ARC DECRA Fellow, his research addresses strategic interactions in markets with imperfect competition.

Methodological contributions include frameworks for optimal mechanism design under aftermarket competition, signaling through refund policies in auctions, and Bayesian persuasion approaches to information disclosure. Applied work examines real estate regulation impacts in China.

Current projects: 'Time Preferences and Growth Mindset' (2023-2024) experimental economics collaboration. Previous grants investigated refund policies in auctions and mechanism design accounting for post-auction market interactions.
