Jing Peng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Operations and Information Management at the School of Business, University of Connecticut. She holds a Ph.D. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and degrees from Xi’an Jiaotong University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her research focuses on the societal and economic impacts of technology-driven phenomena in online platforms, including e-commerce, social media, gig economy, and digital health. She develops econometric methodologies to address challenges in causal inference and endogeneity.
Her work has been published in top journals like Information Systems Research, Management Science, and MIS Quarterly, earning multiple best paper awards. She teaches courses on predictive modeling, data science, and research methods at both master’s and PhD levels. She has contributed R packages such as CoxPlus, PanelCount, and endogeneity to support empirical research.
Jing Peng’s awards include the INFORMS Gordon B. Davis Young Scholar Award (2022), Best Paper Honorable Mentions (ACM CHI 2024), and Dean’s Ackerman Scholar recognition (2022–2024). Her research explores AI’s role in content creation, healthcare, and labor markets, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach to technology and societal impact.
