Jim Mahalik

Jim Mahalik is a Professor in the Counseling, Developmental & Educational Psychology (CDEP) department at Boston College's Lynch School of Education and Human Development. He has been with the university since 1990 and served as the associate dean of faculty and academic affairs. Mahalik holds a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. from the University of Maryland.

• Research focuses on gender socialization, masculinity, and health behaviors.
• Developed widely used measures of gender role conformity and clinical guidelines for working with boys and men.
• Recognized as a fellow by the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Psychological Science (APS).

His recent work explores relationships between masculinity norms, mental health, and health behaviors in men, including studies on depression, pandemic responses, and fatherhood.
