Jessica Ruth Hendy is a Senior Lecturer in Palaeoproteomics at the University of York's Department of Archaeology. She holds a PhD (2015) and dual undergraduate degrees (2010) from the University of Auckland, followed by postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History (2016–2018). Her research focuses on ancient protein analysis to study diets, diseases, and food practices, with recent work on beerstone proteomics and animal domestication in Denmark.
**Awards**: Philip Leverhulme Prize (2019), General Anthropology Division Prize (2023). **Grants**: Leads the 'Dairy pastoralism sustained Eastern Eurasian steppe populations' project and co-investigator on AHRC-funded Bioarch-HS and EU-funded CATCOW projects.
