معرفی
Dr Eleanor Green is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Archaeogenetics at the University of York, affiliated with the Ancient DNA group. Her work bridges biomolecular archaeology and historical ecology through advanced genetic and proteomic analyses.
- PhD in Archaeology (University of York, 2023), funded by AHRC (WRoCAH) and Natural History Museum, London
- MSc in Bioarchaeology (Distinction, University of York, 2016)
- BSc in Bioarchaeology (First Class, University of York, 2015)
Research Focus:
Eleanor specializes in extracting biomolecules from unconventional archaeological substrates like coprolites and historic human remains. Her current RATTUS project investigates rat dispersal patterns across Europe (2023–present), integrating ancient DNA with historical trade and disease dynamics. Past work includes proteomic preservation studies and ZooMS applications.
Key Publication Trends:
Her research emphasizes methodological innovation in metagenomics, population genomics, and palaeoproteomics, often targeting samples previously deemed unsuitable for biomolecular analysis.
- Scientific Awards:
- John Evans dissertation prize (2016)
- Wenner-Gren Dissertation Fieldwork Grant ($20,000)
Collaborations & Networks:
Active in interdisciplinary teams including Dr David Orton (RATTUS lead), Dr Camilla Speller, Dr Nathan Wales, Dr Jessica Hendy, and Prof Ian Barnes. Engaged with the Natural History Museum, London, and University of British Columbia collaborators.
