Jerry Davis is the Gilbert and Ruth Whitaker Professor of Business Administration at the Ross School of Business and a courtesy professor of Sociology at the University of Michigan. He holds a PhD from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. His research focuses on the corporation as a social and economic institution, examining topics such as global supply chain transparency, corporate governance, platform capitalism, and the Sustainable Development Goals. Davis is affiliated with the LSA Sociology Department and serves as Faculty Director of Business+Impact, overseeing initiatives like the +Impact Studio.
Education: PhD in Business from Stanford University. Key roles include editor-in-chief of Administrative Science Quarterly and leadership positions in organizations like ICOS and the Michigan Society of Fellows. His work explores how technology reshapes corporate structures, worker activism, and the ethical dimensions of modern capitalism.
