Steve Davis is a Lecturer in Management at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, combining academic roles with influential positions in global health innovation and corporate strategy. He holds a BA from Princeton University, an MA in Chinese Studies from the University of Washington, and a Law degree from Columbia University. His professional experience spans leadership roles at PATH (global health nonprofit), McKinsey & Company (as Senior Advisor and Director of Social Innovation), and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Davis is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a distinguished fellow at the World Economic Forum.
His research focuses on the intersection of business, innovation, and social impact, with emphasis on global health, climate change mitigation, and equitable energy transitions. He authored Impact: Taking Social Innovation to Scale (Wiley 2020) and teaches courses like STRAMGT 345 on scaling social innovation at Stanford. Davis has advised the WHO on digital health and contributed to national decarbonization strategies, emphasizing policy coherence and equity in climate action.
Recognition includes the Global Health Faculty Fellowship at Stanford Medical School.
