Jeremy Uecker is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Baylor University and a Resident Scholar at the Institute for Studies of Religion (ISR). He joined Baylor in 2012 after completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Carolina Population Center. His research focuses on religion, family dynamics, sexual behavior, social stratification, mental health, and the transition to adulthood, particularly examining how these factors have evolved over the past 50 years in the U.S.

Research Interests: Dr. Uecker explores the intersection of religion and family formation, analyzing how religious affiliation and practices influence decisions related to marriage, parenthood, and lifestyle choices among young adults. His work also addresses broader societal trends, such as the decline of religious adherence and its implications for social cohesion and individual well-being.
Affiliations: He contributes to Baylor’s ISR programs, including the Program on Religion and Population Health and the Global Studies of Religion initiative. His interdisciplinary approach bridges sociology, demography, and religious studies.
