Dr. Jeremy Uecker is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Chair of the Sociology Department at Baylor University. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin (2010), an M.A. (2006), and a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from Furman University (2003). His research focuses on the intersections of religion, family dynamics, sexual behavior, social stratification, mental health, and the transition to adulthood in contemporary American society.
Current research projects include examining how religious commitment influences family formation patterns, exploring emotional responses to abortion among U.S. adults, and analyzing how moral environments shape adolescent development. Recent work highlights topics such as prayer practices, digital media’s impact on youth religiosity, and the relationship between couple religiosity and well-being in later life.
