Jens Arnholtz

Jens Arnholtz is an Associate Professor at the Employment Relations Research Centre (FAOS), Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen. His research focuses on labor migration, EU labor market regulation, and trade union power resources. He has been with the University of Copenhagen since 2010, progressing from Ph.D. fellow to his current position as Associate Professor.

Research Interests:

Dr. Arnholtz's research centers on three main areas: labor migrants (particularly posted workers) in the Danish and European labor markets; EU labor market regulation and its interaction with national regulation; and trade unions' power resources in the labor market and how they influence working conditions. His work draws from comparative employment relations, EU studies, and power resource theory, examining how labor migration affects vocational training systems, labor market hierarchies, and institutional frameworks across different national contexts.

Activities and Contributions:

Dr. Arnholtz has been actively involved in academic service, including peer review for journals like the International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy. He has organized and participated in numerous conferences, including the ILERA European Congress 2022 and the Pow-Bridge final conference. He has also contributed to teaching through Copenhagen Summer University and other educational programs.
