Jenny Wynn is a Departmental Lecturer in Science Education (Biology) at the University of Oxford’s Department of Education, affiliated with Kellogg College. She holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh and has extensive experience in secondary science teaching and leading Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programs. Previously, she served as Programme Leader for the Secondary PGCE at Bishop Grosseteste University and held leadership roles in the Universities Council for the Education of Teachers (UCET).
Her research focuses on applying the Threshold Concepts Framework (TCF) to improve science teaching and teacher education, with additional interests in environmental sustainability education and medical education through her involvement in the MEDiC project. She actively contributes to national initiatives like the National Climate Education Action Plan (NCEAP).
Jenny teaches on the PGCE Science Programme, MSc in Learning and Teaching, MSc in Medical Education, and supervises doctoral students in education. She welcomes PhD applications in ITE, science education, TCF, and climate education.
