Dr. Jennifer Nelson is a Professor in the Women’s and Gender Studies Program and Department of History at the University of Redlands, where she has served as Director of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program since 2014. She holds a Ph.D. in United States History from Rutgers University and a B.A. in Semiotics from Brown University.

Her research focuses on reproductive health, women’s health movements, and the history of feminism in the United States. She is currently working on a transnational study of abortion rights movements in Mexico.
Nelson has published extensively in women’s history, medical history, and women’s studies journals, examining intersections between reproductive justice, social activism, and community health initiatives. Her work spans comparative analyses of feminist movements across Latin America and the U.S.
