Jennifer Holland is the L.R. Brammer Jr. Presidential Professor and Sara Louise Welsh Chair in Western History at the University of Oklahoma's Department of History, with affiliate membership in Women and Gender Studies. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, an M.A. from Utah State University, and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Her research examines gender, race, sexuality, and conservatism in the North American West post-1945, with foci on:
- Anti-queer politics in rural America
- Reproductive rights movements
- Religious influence on gender norms
- Indigenous-settler dynamics
Publications predominantly explore reproductive politics and social conservatism through monographs like Tiny You and articles analyzing activist strategies. Recent works show increased attention to global reproductive rights frameworks and op-ed advocacy.
Awards recognizing her scholarship include:
