Jennifer Kasper, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School (HMS), with a dual appointment in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine. She serves as PME Senior Advisor for Global Health at HMS and directs Pediatric Racial Justice and Health Equity initiatives at Southern Jamaica Plain Health Center. Her roles include chairing the HMS Scholars in Medicine Faculty Advisory Committee on Global Health.
Education: Combined BA/MD with honors from Boston University, followed by an MPH from Boston University School of Public Health.
Research interests focus on clinical medicine, human rights, and global health equity. Her work spans health service delivery in resource-limited settings, rural community development, complex humanitarian emergencies, and global health ethics. She co-edited the MGH f C Handbook of Pediatric Global Health and teaches courses on social medicine, community engagement, and global health professionalism at HMS.
Professional service includes leadership roles with Doctors for Global Health (DGH), an organization practicing 'liberation medicine' through partnerships with rural communities in El Salvador, Mexico, and Uganda. Her career includes 20+ years of clinical care for underserved populations, PEPFAR-funded HIV program implementation in Mozambique, and disaster relief in Honduras and Haiti.
