Paul Gerard Firth

Dr. Paul Gerard Firth is a Clinical Professor at Harvard Medical School and serves as Head of the Division of Community and Global Health within the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine. He is affiliated with the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and the MGH Center for Global Health. His clinical and research work focuses on global health collaborations, particularly in Mbarara, Uganda. Dr. Firth holds an M.B.,Ch.B. from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, completed his anesthesia residency at MGH, and a Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship at Tufts-NEMC. He previously worked as a Specialist Registrar at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK.

His professional roles include executive committee membership at the MGH Center for Global Health and leadership in advancing anesthesia and pain medicine in underserved regions. His work emphasizes improving healthcare access and equity through collaborative global initiatives.
