Bethany-Rose Daubman, MD holds multiple roles at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at HMS, Co-Director of the MGH Global Palliative Care Program, and an Affiliate of HMS’s Department of Global Health and Social Medicine. She also serves as an Associate in Global Health at MGH’s Center for Global Health.
Her research focuses on educational interventions to address suffering in vulnerable populations, both domestically and globally. Central projects include cultural competency in palliative care for American Indian communities in South Dakota, collaborations with the Northern Plains American Indian Palliative Care Collaborative, and partnerships in Jamaica, Brazil, and Chile to expand palliative care services. She investigates barriers and facilitators in emergency department (ED) palliative care, particularly during the pandemic, and emphasizes clinician training for resource-limited settings.
Dr. Daubman’s work highlights the integration of palliative care into crisis response systems, leveraging interdisciplinary approaches and qualitative research methods to improve healthcare equity and provider preparedness.
