Dr. Jenna Jacobson is an Associate Professor and Eaton Chair of Retailing at the Ted Rogers School of Retail Management, Toronto Metropolitan University. She also serves as Director of the university's Retail Leadership Institute. She holds a PhD from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Information.
Her research examines:
- Social media marketing strategies and influencer practices
- Consumer and producer dynamics in digital retail ecosystems
- Brand communication in technology-mediated environments
- Behavioral paradoxes in online information consumption
Analysis of her 15 most recent publications (2021-2024) reveals dominant themes in digital retail innovation, social media ethics in marketing, crisis response in retail (especially during COVID-19), and health communication through social platforms. Her work consistently appears in high-impact journals spanning consumer studies, advertising research, and technology forecasting.
Dr. Jacobson teaches graduate and undergraduate courses focused on social media marketing, retail analytics, and digital advertising strategies. She leads the Retail Leadership Institute to advance industry-academia collaboration in retail innovation.
