Jenna Drenten is a Professor of Marketing and Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Faculty Affairs at the Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University Chicago. She is a leading scholar in digital consumer culture, focusing on how social media platforms mediate identity, gender, and consumption ideologies.

Her research explores the sociocultural dynamics of digital technologies, including influencer marketing, virtual celebrities, platformization, and the commodification of attention. She specializes in qualitative social media research methods and investigates how digital culture shapes consumer behavior across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Cameo.
Her recent publications span themes such as gender inequality in gaming, digital financial platforms, transgender consumer marginalization, and feminist academic organizing. Her work appears in top journals including Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Advertising, and New Media & Society.
