Dr. Jemima Matthews is a Lecturer in Early Modern English Literature at King's College London, based in the Department of English, Faculty of Arts & Humanities. She holds a BA from St Anne's College, Oxford, an MA in Shakespeare Studies from King's, and a PhD from the University of Nottingham on Thames riverine studies. Her research explores early modern literary geographies, material culture, and water studies, blending archival work with cultural geography.

Research focuses on the intersection of written and physical geographies, particularly the Thames (1550–1650). She co-leads King's Water Centre and Research Shakespeare Centre London.
