Jeffrey A. Brauch, J.D., is a Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Development & Intellectual Life at Regent University School of Law. He also serves as the Founding Director of the Center for Global Justice®. Brauch joined Regent’s faculty in 1994 and served as law school dean from 2000 to 2015. He holds a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School (with honors) and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison (with distinction).
His research focuses on international human rights, religious freedom, legal theory, and the intersection of Christian thought with law. He has authored numerous books, including A Higher Law (3d ed., 2019) and Flawed Perfection (2017), and has published widely in law reviews and journals. Notable works include analyses of the European Court of Human Rights, human trafficking, and the role of faith in legal education.
Award-winning educator, Brauch has received accolades such as the 1998-99 Chancellor’s Award (Outstanding Professor of the Year) and the 2009 Champion for Justice from Justice Calls. He is affiliated with the State Bar of Wisconsin, American Bar Association, and Christian Legal Society, among others. His professional background includes clerkships at the Wisconsin Supreme Court and legal practice in commercial litigation.
Brauch’s leadership extends to institutional initiatives like the Center for Global Justice®, which advances interdisciplinary scholarship on justice issues. He actively engages in public discourse on human rights, legal ethics, and the societal impact of law. His personal interests include history, classical music, and Green Bay Packers football.
