Dr. Jeanette Boudreau is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology and Department of Pathology at Dalhousie University's Faculty of Medicine. She also serves as Scientific Director of the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute. Her research focuses on natural killer (NK) cell biology, cancer immunogenetics, and host defense mechanisms. She holds a BSc from the University of Waterloo, a PhD from McMaster University, and completed postdoctoral training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
- Education:
- BSc: University of Waterloo
- PhD: McMaster University
- Postdoctoral Training: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
Her work integrates bioinformatics, humanized animal models, and advanced imaging to study immune responses in cancer and infections. She is a recipient of prestigious awards, including the 2021 Dalhousie President's Award for Emerging Investigators and the Terry Fox New Investigator Award (2019). Her research has advanced understanding of NK cell diversity and their role in precision therapies for ovarian and pancreatic cancers.
Key Research Themes:
- Immune-molecular interactions in cancer survival
- Development of tumor microenvironment models (e.g., T-SLICE platform)
- Translation of NK cell research into clinical applications
Awards:
- 2021 Dalhousie University President's Award
- 2020 Faculty of Medicine Award for Basic Science Research
