Robin Urqhart is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Dalhousie University, and holds the Canadian Cancer Society (Nova Scotia Division) Endowed Chair in Population Cancer Research. She serves as Scientific Director of the Atlantic Partnership for Tomorrow’s Health (Atlantic PATH), Senior Scientist at the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute, and Affiliate Scientist at the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Dr. Urqhart specializes in cancer health services and outcomes research, focusing on patient and family experiences, implementation science, and models of care. Her work spans the cancer continuum from prevention to survivorship and palliative care, with a strong emphasis on translating evidence into policy and practice through population-based studies and mixed methods.
Her recent publications highlight expertise in sustainability of healthcare innovations, cancer survivorship care plans, clinical guideline implementation, and frailty assessment. Awards include the 2014 Discovery Award for Science and Technology (Emerging Professional), 2018 President’s Research Excellence Award at Dalhousie, and the 2020 Making Waves Award from Nova Scotia Health.
She actively contributes to healthcare leadership as Patient Engagement Scientific Lead for the Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit, Nova Scotia Lead for the Terry Fox Research Institute’s Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network, and Co-Lead of Cancer Survivorship at the Canadian Centre for Applied Research in Cancer Control.
