Jean-Louis Mandel is a Professor of Human Genetics at the College de France, where he has held the Chair of Human Genetics since 2003. Previously, he was a Professor of Genetics at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Strasbourg (1984-2003) and an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at Strasbourg University (1978-1984). He also served as Director of the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC) in Strasbourg (2002-2006).
- Research Focus: Analysis of genetic diseases, including unstable polynucleotide repeat expansions, X-linked mental retardation, multifactorial diseases, and genomic imprinting. His work bridges human genetics, molecular biology, and personalized medicine.
