Jean-François Rouet is a Researcher at the University of Poitiers, affiliated with the Written Language team at the Center for Research on Cognition and Learning (CeRCA). He specializes in cognitive processes related to reading literacy and digital information interaction, with a focus on adolescents and young adults.
- Doctorate in Psychology (University of Poitiers, 1991)
- Postdoctoral research at University of Pittsburgh (1991-1993) and INRIA (1993-1994)
His research explores purposeful reading, hypertext navigation, and evaluation of multiple information sources. He co-developed the RESOLV model (2018) and investigates digital reading strategies in educational contexts. Recent projects include studying attention interruptions in text comprehension and reading strategy acquisition in adolescents.
Active in international assessment programs, Rouet chairs the PISA 2018 reading literacy expert group and contributes to the OECD’s PIAAC study. He has co-directed six doctoral students since 2012 and collaborates on grants like the SELEN project funded by France’s National Research Agency.
