Kjersti Lundetræ is a Professor in Special Educational Needs at the University of Stavanger, serving as Director of the Norwegian Centre for Reading Education and Research since 2018. She leads two major Research Council of Norway-funded RCTs: On Track and Two Teachers, focusing on early literacy interventions and struggling readers.
Her research interests include early literacy instruction, reading intervention effectiveness, gender disparities in literacy, and adaptive assessment design. Recent publications analyze PIRLS data, accelerated letter instruction, and the intersection of literacy skills with health outcomes.
