Jason Grindstaff serves as Interim Dean of the Jeanette C. Rudy School of Nursing and Health Professions and Professor at Cumberland University, where he has taught Exercise & Sport Science courses at undergraduate and graduate levels since joining in fall 2010.
His academic credentials include:
- B.A. in Psychology and Sports Medicine from Dakota Wesleyan University
- M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from University of Tennessee, Knoxville
- M.S. in Sport Psychology from University of Tennessee, Knoxville
- M.B.A. from Cumberland University
- Ph.D. in Sport Psychology from University of Tennessee, Knoxville
Dr. Grindstaff's research integrates Sport Psychology and Exercise Science with clinical applications in Mental Health Counseling and Addiction Studies, emphasizing peak performance optimization through evidence-based interventions including biofeedback and strength conditioning protocols developed from his dual expertise in athletic performance and clinical therapy.
His leadership encompasses Program Director for the Master of Sport & Exercise Science, Executive Director of the Honors Program, and Academic Integrity Board Chair, building on prior clinical experience providing sport psychology services to University of Florida athletics during his two-year post-doctoral appointment.
