Jane Williams is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Bedfordshire, affiliated with the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. She holds a PhD from the University of Bedfordshire, an MSc in Psychology of Sport from the University of Stirling, and a BSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology from the University of Abertay Dundee.
Her research focuses on the intersection of sport psychology and health psychology, particularly how physical activity can support individuals experiencing bereavement. She has collaborated with Northampton Town Women’s Football Club as a performance psychologist and is pursuing Stage 2 BPS sport psychology accreditation.
Recent publications include qualitative investigations and systematic reviews in BMC Public Health, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and Sports Medicine-Open. Her work explores the emotional and psychological benefits of physical activity for young people facing parental loss, with methodological emphasis on qualitative and systematic review approaches.
