Jami Holbein Swanson

Dr. Jami Holbein Swanson teaches in the Transitional Certification Program and ESL courses at the University of Nebraska. Her research addresses teacher recruitment/retention in rural settings, with emphasis on cognitive coaching techniques and diversity in education. She advises the Future Educators of Color student organization.

With 30+ years in K-12 education as a Spanish Heritage Language teacher and curriculum specialist, her work bridges classroom practice with teacher preparation. Awards include the 2019 Nebraska Spanish Teacher of the Year honor.
