James Sikes is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Biology Department at the University of San Francisco. His research explores the evolution and development of regeneration and asexual reproduction mechanisms in marine and freshwater flatworms. Current investigations focus on molecular developmental processes underlying regenerative capabilities and diversification of asexual reproductive strategies.
He obtained his PhD from the University of Maryland and BS from Furman University. As department chair, he oversees academic programs while maintaining research on invertebrate developmental biology.
