Allison Edgar is an Assistant Professor in Biological Sciences at NJIT, integrating developmental, evolutionary, and ecological approaches to study invertebrate life histories. Her research examines reproductive strategies, regenerative capabilities, and gene regulation in basal metazoans like ctenophores.
She earned her PhD in Biology from Duke University (2019) and BA in Biology from Reed College (2008). Her lab investigates environmental influences on development using genomic and experimental techniques, with recent publications on wound response conservation and ctenophore regeneration.
