James Leggott is a Lecturer in Film and Television Studies at Northumbria University since 2006. He holds a PhD in Film and Television Studies from the University of Newcastle (2004) and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2005). His research focuses on British film and television culture, emphasizing regional representation, overlooked creative figures, and popular genres. He has authored monographs on contemporary British cinema, the Amber film collective, and regional storytelling in media.
