Dr. Ian Goode is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Theatre, Film & Television Studies at the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on contemporary Scottish and British film/TV, historical representations, rural cinema, and non-fiction television. He leads projects exploring rural cinema history in Scotland and the cultural impact of film exhibition in non-theatrical spaces.
Key research interests include auto/biographical representations, documentary practices, and the intersection of cinema with regional identity. His recent work examines early cinematic portrayals of Mary, Queen of Scots, and post-war rural film exhibition in the Highlands and Islands.
