Erica Horton is a Lecturer at Norwich University of the Arts (NUA), teaching Film Theory and History within the BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production program. She joined NUA in 2016 after completing her PhD in Film and Television Studies at the University of East Anglia. Her research focuses on British television comedy, creativity in cultural studies, and transatlantic cultural perspectives on comedy.

Research interests include the evolving status of comedy in digital media, Hollywood film comedy, and gender dynamics in cinema. She co-authored a 2020 Routledge book on British TV comedy creativity and published analyses of youth masculinity in Hollywood films like Superbad.
Erica actively contributes to institutional committees: PAL Mentor Coordinator (2021–present), NUA Research Committee (2019–present), Equality Diversity and Inclusion Committee (2018–present), and the International Day of the Girl initiative (2015–2019). Her work emphasizes empowering young people through educational workshops addressing gender issues.
