Jakob von Engelhardt

Jakob von Engelhardt is a W3 Professor at the Institute of Pathophysiology, University Medical Center of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, where he leads a neuroscience research group investigating synaptic communication mechanisms. His team studies how glutamate receptors (AMPA/NMDA) influence neuronal network function, synaptic plasticity, and information processing in the CNS, with implications for neurodegenerative disorders.
