Dr Jaime Lindsey is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Reading (since 2023), previously at the University of Essex (2017–2023). Her research focuses on healthcare law, mental capacity law, and alternative dispute resolution. She leads an ESRC-funded project on mediation in medical treatment disputes and has authored/co-edited books like Reimagining the Court of Protection (CUP 2022) and Grandparents and the Law (Hart 2023). Lindsey holds academic fellowships with Middle Temple and is a member of the ESRC peer review college.
Education: PhD (Birmingham), LPC (BPP), MA Medical Ethics (King’s College London), LLB (UCL). She welcomes PhD students in mental capacity law, safeguarding, and access to justice using socio-legal methods.
Awards include the Hart-SLSA Book Prize 2023 and shortlists for the Peter Birks Prize and National Mediation Awards. Her research explores therapeutic justice, participation in legal proceedings, and interdisciplinary approaches to healthcare disputes.
