Mr. Jacob Enoka is a Casual Academic and Instrument Teacher specializing in Percussion at the School of Music, The University of Queensland. A freelance percussionist, he performs with prominent orchestras including the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, and Queensland Pops Orchestra. He is a core member of Ensemble Q and collaborates with Ensemble Trivium and Camerata—Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra. Engaged in chamber music festivals, he participates in events like the Australian Festival of Chamber Music and Bellingen Music Festival, featuring world and Australian premieres.
His educational contributions include workshops for Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Education Queensland, and Queensland Youth Orchestras. He serves as an adjudicator for the Gold Coast Eisteddfod and tutors across Brisbane schools and UQ. Enoka holds a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (2017), where he performed Joseph Schwantner’s Percussion Concerto with the Conservatorium Wind Orchestra. During his studies, he was Principal Percussionist for the Australian Youth Orchestra (2016 season) and National Music Camp.
Enoka’s expertise spans classical percussion performance, chamber music collaboration, and music education. His involvement in ensembles and festivals highlights his dedication to both traditional and contemporary musical expression in Australia.
