Jack A. Raisner is a Professor at St. John's University's Peter J. Tobin College of Business. He specializes in employment and corporate bankruptcy law, focusing on discrimination, sexual harassment, privacy, whistleblowing, pensions, labor rights, and mass layoffs. He holds a JD from Yeshiva University's Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
Professor Raisner has authored Pregnancy Discrimination and Parental Leave Handbook (2000) and contributed to major legal treatises like International Labor and Employment Law and Wrongful Termination. He has also published in journals such as Quinnipiac Law Review and New York Law Journal.
He served as Chairman of the Employment Law Committee of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business and co-chaired the American Bar Association's Drug and Alcohol in the Workplace Subcommittee. His legal advocacy includes landmark Supreme Court cases safeguarding employee rights under bankruptcy law and drafting state legislation mandating severance for mass layoffs (enacted in 2020).
