Ivan Lopez Munuera

Iván L. Munuera is a scholar, critic, and curator currently serving as a Visiting Professor at Bard College and Barnard-Columbia. He is a PhD Candidate at Princeton University’s School of Architecture, with a focus on intersections of culture, technology, politics, and bodily practices in modern and global contexts.

His research explores architecture’s relationship to cultural/political dynamics, bodily practices, and global urbanism. He has curated exhibitions at institutions like Maat Lisbon, Museo Reina Sofía, and Shanghai Biennale, often addressing themes of identity, infrastructure, and public space.

Scientific awards include the Harold W. Dodds Fellowship (2020) at Princeton. His work has been presented at venues such as the European Architectural History Network, Cooper Union, and UTS Sydney, with publications in Log, e-flux, and The Architect’s Newspaper.

He has collaborated on projects like Bauhauswelle (Berlin) and Chromanoids (Istanbul/Seoul), reflecting his interest in interdisciplinary design and socio-political spatial practices.
