Carrie Norman is an Assistant Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Director of Undergraduate Major and Minor Programs in Architecture. She previously served as Assistant Professor at Tulane University and 2023 Louis Kahn Visiting Assistant Professor at Yale University, with teaching experience at Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, Barnard College, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Norman is a licensed architect in New York, Louisiana, and Illinois, and co-founder of the design collaborative Norman Kelley, active in residential architecture, commercial interiors, furniture design, and exhibition design.

Her work focuses on social, cultural, and critical reuse in architecture, emphasizing observation, particularity, and alterations. Notable awards include the United States Artists Fellowship in Architecture (2018), Architectural League of New York Young Architect's Prize (2014), and American Academy in Rome Rome Prize Fellowship (2013). Norman Kelley received the Architect's Newspaper Best of Design Award for Exhibition Design (2021, 2018) and was a Lisbon Architecture Triennale Début Prize Finalist (2019).
Her collaborative practice engages with critical design theory, furniture production, and exhibition frameworks, licensed across four U.S. states. She has contributed to major architecture biennials and triennales, blending design with cultural commentary through publications and built works.
